Just finished spinning up a new home lab node — 3 VMs, Proxmox, and a 10Gb switch. Linux never gets old. 🐧 #HomeLab #Linux #Networking

26 years in tech and I’m still learning something new every week. Just wrapped up a deep dive into eSentire’s threat detection playbooks — the cybersecurity landscape never stops evolving. If you’re not staying current, you’re falling behind. #Cybersecurity #NOC #Linux

🎵 Great live set at the jazz corner last night. There’s something about a bass line that hits different at 11 PM on a Friday. Music has always been a huge part of how I decompress after a long week of tickets and escalations. Anyone else find that music and tech go hand in hand? What are you listening to lately?

🔐 Discussion: With AI-assisted phishing getting scarily convincing, what’s your first line of defense at the user level? We asked our members — the top answers were: mandatory MFA, DNS filtering, and regular simulated phishing drills. Steven Pierson weighed in: “After years in a NOC, the biggest threat is still social engineering. No firewall fixes a human.” Thoughts? Drop them below. #Cybersecurity #InfoSec #ZeroTrust

🎮 Weekend Poll: Retro or modern — what’s on your screen this weekend? Our members are split between Baldur’s Gate 3, Doom (1993), and a surprising number of people running emulators on Raspberry Pi. There’s something beautiful about a sysadmin who spends their Friday night optimizing Linux configs AND their Saturday morning playing Contra on original hardware. You know who you are. 👾 Drop your pick in the comments! #Gaming #RetroGaming #HomeLab

🎶 Local Spotlight: What a night at the Jazz Corner last Friday! Thanks to everyone who came out — and a big shoutout to Steven Pierson for keeping the back booth lively until last call. 🎺 Our next group listen is March 22nd — we’ll be spinning vinyl and talking about the intersection of music theory and pattern recognition (yes, really — it’s more interesting than it sounds). BYOB and bring a record. All genres welcome. #CambridgeON #LiveMusic #JazzCorner

🐧 Tip of the Week: Running a multi-VM homelab on Proxmox? Here are 3 things that made a huge difference for our members this month:
1. Set up a dedicated VLAN for IoT devices — keep them isolated from your main LAN.
2. Use zfs send for incremental VM backups — way faster than full snapshots.
3. Pin your VMs to specific CPU cores if you’re seeing latency spikes.
Steven Pierson added: “10Gb switching changed my homelab life. If you’re still on gigabit, it’s time.” What’s your best homelab tip this month? #Linux #Proxmox #HomeLab #OpenSource
